History they've found - Jada Pinkett revealed a couple of years
ago that she has alopecia and is therefore not currently bald by
choice. So Will did not appreciate the GI Jane joke, but yeah,
smacking Chris Rock live during the broadcast... is a wow...

That was uncalled for. The G.I. Jane joke I didn't understand
because I didn't know she had alopecia. Bad joke, but to
assault the man like that is not good at all. If Chris Rock
wasn't genuinely stunned he is a far better actor than I ever
       gave him credit for.

Gotta admit that Chris Rock handled it well.
And while jokes shouldn't be made about other people's
appearances, sister S is correct that it is definitely not out
of bounds of the kinds of jokes that are made about other
       actors/people in previous years/this year.

He did it knowing millions of people are watching. I get wanting
to defend your wife but that was so ballsy in a not at all good
       way.

Indeed. I agree with whoever said they lost respect for Will
Smith. I am in that camp. Who does he think he is?
Geez. I didn't expect to need to pause the show to work with a
violence trigger during the damed Oscars. Asshole. I'll catch
up later on. I'll be behind. Enjoy the rest folks.

I did not know this. Under that circumstance, no, it was not a
funny joke at all. Very poor taste. But going up on stage like
that was not the best response. Will be interesting to see where
       the fallout lands.
