POST OP UPDATE!
D’s surgery went very well and doctors are pleased! He just
left recovery and is back in ICU for the next few days. He’s
resting comfortably and has a pain pump he can operate. He was
pretty scared about the pain & feels more in control with the
pump. Everyone is so relieved it’s done and healing can begin.
Thank you thank you thank you for all the mojo…please send more
for pain control & healing the next few days. Lots of gratitude
& love - LT

Great news on the surgery! That is a lot for a young person to
go through, it's great he has a pain pump now - that should give
him a little more sense of control.
MOJO continuing....

That is good news. Thank you for the update. The mojination is
still in motion for healing, for D to have a low level of pain
that can be managed, and for nerve soothing energy for all. You
guys have all been through it.

Just came here to post the update, but I see lurk did already.
It must be such a relief for all that the surgery went well, and
now D can focus on getting better. Mojo will be sent every day.

Thursday evening update:
D had an uncomfortable night and had to be repositioned every
hour. At least his pain was manageable.
His grandma said [I've edited slightly since there was a bit of
medical and other jargon]:
“Big day! Catheter is out. Staples out of abdominal incision
(all healed). Arterial monitor line is out. Sat on edge of bed
twice supporting his own weight. Stood up once supporting own
weight. Ate half an ice cream caramel bar. Drinking water well.
Still has pain pump so he can push the button as needed. Stopped
the continuous pain meds mid morning. On some other pain meds as
needed. Is finally zonked out and snoring. Whew long but good
day! He has approx 6 inch incision - minimal hair shaved, won’t
be able to tell. Small pin holes just above temples from where
they stabilized his head and neck for surgery. The pin holes are
very small and healing nicely."
LT continued: The really good news is that he’ll be sprung from
the ICU and move to a rehab unit. That is huge progress!
Thanks to all for the support and please continue to send mojo
for pain management. Docs think it will drop off tomorrow and
everyone is excited for the move out of ICU.

Thanks for the update!
I'm glad D is doing so well. Post-surgical pain sucks, but it
sounds as if he's in great shape, all things considered.
More prayers, best wishes, and buckets of mojo for pain
management.

Mojo inbound! So glad to hear of good progress. May it continue
and rehab be more of a fun and interesting adventure than a
total suckage for him.
