Ginger Baker

We have a lot of feral cats in our neighborhood. My husband
started calling one of them Ringo because he has rings on his
tail. We continued the drummers trend and named this guy Ginger
Baker. He is very sweet to humans but a jerk to all the other
cats. We're calling him our part-time pet since he gets fed by
several folks in the hood.

Well hello Ginger Baker! Aren't you handsome?!?! The Facebiter
would like you to know that orange and white cats are the best
cats. He's not at all biased on that.
(Yes, the Facebiter is orange and white, why do you ask?)

I think you've been adopted!
He looks like a sweetie. I am a sucker for an orange boy cat.
Had two wonderful ones.
P.S. I'm tempted to take him in if you don't!

He's lovely. Orange cats are the best cats. Oh, um, so are
Siamese the best cats. So are black cats the best cats. And
calicos.
But I'll always have an especially soft spot for a ginger cat.
They're just so damned sweet in my experience.

My first cat memories are of Tom, a giant round faced short
haired ginger tabby. Very much like Morris the Cat of old "9
Lives" cat food commercial fame. He would get in the bathtub
with me up until the water was about to soak his tum, then he
would jump out. He was very sweet and very tolerant of two
small children. I remember a story about me as a toddler. He
scratched me once, but only because I sat on him. He sank his
claw points into my diaper and poked through in a couple of
places. That is how mellow he was, and, I didn't sit on him
again after that. I was told I also ate out of his bowl with
him at that age. I definitely have a soft spot for Tom (or
Morris) look alikes.

My mother was the slightly crazy lady feeding Figaro tuna to
neighborhood ferals. We tamed the kittens when we could and
frequently had our hearts broken. City life is tough.
Anyhoo there was an apple-headed light orange tabby like Morris.
We named him Elsa since we’d just seen Born Free.
