I'm just sad I didnt discover it earlier: it's seriously one of
the best threads on the whole board.

Dear Cat,
Yes, a really nice way to start the morning, after the alarm
goes off, is with a purring cuddle. After the alarm goes off.
Did you notice that part? AFTER the alarm goes off. If you get
impatient and want to start early, it's probably not going to be
nearly as much fun because the other being involved is likely to
be quite surly about it.
love,
Your Person

For all of our cats, I could go out of town and when I came
back, it was like oh, you're back. But if my husband went with
me, you would have thought they'd been left alone with no food
and water by what they had to say. Except for one. He'd walk to
the middle of the living room when we came in, look at us, and
turn around and sit down with his back towards us. He was fine
after an hour or so, but he definitely wanted us to know it was
not acceptable for my husband to leave. P.S. Cat sitter is an
animal lover who over pets, plays, feeds and treats cats.

I had one that pulled the "I'm turning my back on you" routine
also. But I knew she wouldn't stay mad for long.

If you could ask your cat(s) ONE question, and get an actual
answer, what would you ask?
I'd ask our black cat why he's scared of plastic bags. I'd ask
our torbie what her kittenhood was like.
I would ask Khaleesi why she's scared of sneezes.
Maybe she thinks it's thunder? 😉

Dear Cat,
Yes, I like to lounge in bed as long as possible.
Yes, I like when you cuddle with me and want to lounge as well.
Yes, I love to hear your purr.
No, I do not like it when you march/knead on my bladder in the
morning. Isn't there some other body part you could massage?
Thanks in advance for considering this request.
Signed,
She who remains hopeful after 11 years.
P.S. Yes, I still love you very much.

Dear Cat,
I have had many years of changing the sheets on the bed and am
able to do it by myself. I appreciated your weekly offers to
help, but you can stop now.
Love,
Your loyal servant

Dear Cats,
The vacuum cleaner will not eat you. I'm sorry the noise it
makes hurts your delicate ears, but running it is necessary to
clean up all of the fur and kitty litter you leave lying around.
Sincerely,
Your Human (who wishes she were a pampered housecat, instead)

They didn't help with your other laundry duties? No plopping
themselves down on the pile of clean clothes you are attempting
to fold? No climbing the pile of folded clothes pretending you
were mountaineering on Everest and toppling them onto the floor?
No insisting your lap is the place to be NOW and no its not
relevant that you can't fold clothes while they sit there?
Frankie was denied nothing near the end so if she wanted your
lap you simply didn't move until she was done.
You need to train them up better!

Oh, right, I forgot about helping with laundry fresh out of the
dryer. Especially towels!

See also: the sofa cover. I can do this without your
assistance, enthusiastic though it may be.
