I finally made the paella I've been wanting to make for a while
now. I combined two recipes - one I'd made decades ago and
another I found on the web. It was delicious, but the rice
never developed the "crust" on the bottom that it's supposed to.
I admit it was challenging. I had to order Bomba rice from the
internet, my paella pan that I bought myself before the pandemic
is large and so I used 3 of the burners on my stove and kept
moving the pan so different sections woud be above the burners,
hoping the rice would cook evenly.
We will eat the leftovers tomorrow, I'll cook some chicken to
add to it since we ate the seafood tonight.

God I love paella. I do mine in my big cast iron skillet.

Not necessarily for dinner - I'm tweaking this recipe for later
in the year. What would you do to make it more interesting? I'm
swapping out the cream cheese for a soft blue cheese. Or add
curry with the cream cheese. This recipe seems good for a hungry
teenager.

I would add more than one ramen flavoring packet.

Salmon tonight. BP does the fish.
Last week she did a miso recipe with the salmon and it was good.
So hard to find miso around here.

Miso is awesome, agreed.
It’s extremely hot here and my kids are at a splash pad so we
are having a “snack plate dinner” cheese, crackers, watermelon,
grapes, etc.

DC is sick and I'm coming down with...probably whatever he has
(NOT COVID related, thankfully), so dinner will be leftovers
from the Thai we got delivered for lunch to try to burn this
thing out of us.

See, if you just call that a charcuterie board, you sound like
you're trés adult and sophisticated.

[/quote]She's the fancy cook. I just want to make juvenile
jokes about "miso horny" and never cook with it.
