As starters, soft pretzels with mustard. :) I actually think I
can order some in from Philly. I'm excited - haven't tasted
these in years.
Much as I'd love to have a real, honest-to-God hoagie, I'm the
only one who loves them. So it will likely be a Philly "sausage
and peppers" on Italian bread with grilled onions and provolone.
Or else cheese steak. Neither one a health food, both utterly
delicious. :)
Dessert? Philly cheesecake or Amish apple turnovers A friend
is doing Tastycakes, which admittedly are a Philly staple and I
had them in my lunches growing up. But they don't somehow seem
festive enough.

I am so glad I didn't realize I had a problem with wheat until
after I moved away from Philadelphia! Your menu sounds
wonderful. Even the Tastycakes sound good - my old boss passed
out Tastycakes in place of cigars when his wife had a baby.
How I love those soft pretzels! And the sausage and pepper
sandwiches! I make sausage and peppers on a sheet pan (using
chicken andouille sausages) with roasted potatoes. It's good,
but not the same.

Welp this year's menu looks easy: philly cheesesteak sliders
and burnt ends.
What will you guys serve?

No party here. Probably driving Kid back to college, or else
driving myself back home.
Hope traffic will be light.

My in-law’s are hosting and they pick up a bunch of wings,
people bring other snacks and desserts. This is the menu so far:
Smoked ribs with KC barbecue sauce
Philly cheesesteak sliders on pretzel buns
Fruit pizza, one with kiwi and blackberries (Eagles) and one
with strawberries, raspberries, and oranges (KC)
Spinach and artichoke dip
Chips and salsa/guacamole
The real MVP of this Super Bowl is my FIL who is doing all the
shopping today so nobody has to go to a store over the weekend.

There's a Cheesesteak Shop down the road from me. It's not at
all the same as getting an authentic one back home, but it'll
do.

I was gonna make pork belly burnt ends (KC) and Ghirardelli
brownies (SF, thanks Jojo!) but due to the new MA law on
humanely raised pork I cannot dh ind pork belly anywhere.
Dammit.

My smoker is out of commission. I'm thinking of starting the
pork belly in the slow cooker (with a smoky rob and some liquid
smoke) and then just blasting them in a hot oven right at the
end.
Thoughts?
Right now I'm leaning slightly Asian, with a gochujang-spiked
sauce idea. I might do a test batch tomorrow.

If pork belly is similar to ribs (I confess I don't know what
pork belly is), I think that would work just fine.
I make my ribs (with a dry rub) and then put them in a large
baking pan with a dark beer added for moisture, cover with foil
and then bake in the oven at a very low temp (250 or so) for
most of the day until the fat has mostly melted off and they're
falling apart. A former work colleague used her crock pot.
And then I broil them. And I usually do an Asian sauce as well.
Sounds excellent!

Forgot to add that I put the ribs on a rack, not directly in the
beer.

Fingers crossed for great results (I am already sure they will
be good, but we're shooting for great here, right?)
