We are doing Cincinnati chili and mini street tacos for LA.
We are also doing toasted ravioli because the Rams used to be in
St. Louis. Ha!
My FIL used to make Cincinnati chili a lot when his kids were
young so we are just using that recipe. I think the street tacos
will be flank steak with a cilantro/onion/lime topping. Toasted
ravioli is from the freezer section.

Now I want flank steak tacos with a cilantro/onion/lime topping

I'm still stumped because our hostess cannot eat anything spicy
(legit medical food restriction, not that it matters) and I
don't want to bring a whole taco bar to someone else's house and
the only chili in the universe that's worth eating is my white
chicken chili with adobo and she can't eat that.
I'll probably just wrap something yummy in puff pastry and call
it a day. Also mini fruit kebabs because who doesn't like
those?

I think you definitely have to have an open mind when trying
Cincinnati Chili for the first time. If you expect it to taste
like Texas chili, you are not going to like it.
ETA: I remember trying to convince my Mexican buddy to go to
Taco Bell with me for lunch in high school. He said, "That's
not Mexican food!" I was like yeah, you are right. Just don't
think of it as Mexican food, and just try it to see if you like
it. He got hooked on Cheesearitos!

Taco Bell is a whole genre to itself.

What about an assortment of quesadillas? You can bring them
assembled, then run under the broiler. Plus a few salsas,
including something mild, and pickled chilis on the side.

Since it is going to be 45 degrees and sunny here we are
grilling a spatchcock chicken (with brick on top to flatten)
marinated in orange juice, adobo sauce and white wine.. Will
shred and serve with homemade tortillas , taco fixings and green
chili corn pudding. Maybe chicken and pineapple quesadillas.
That's the LA part.
The Cincinnati is Drunk Peach Crobbler. A recipe from a
Cincinnati friend. Line a pie pan with whatever topping you use
for apple crisp and bake until toasty, pile in peaches that have
soaked in dark rum, then do a lattice cobbler top. Hence the
Crobbler name. The topping and peaches all blend together And
then the sugar cinnamon pie dough top.
Topped with rum enhanced whipped cream.

I decided to embrace the valentine's-adjacent timing and make
chocolate covered strawberries.

Welp this year's menu looks easy: philly cheesesteak sliders
and burnt ends.
What will you guys serve?
