Hot during the day today, but a delicious cool breeze came
       through in the evening. :)

We’re coming home on Friday and I’m looking forward to feeling
the Seattle marine layer roll in.
It’s hard to describe but I can remember being at Safeco Field
when the weather turned. It’s magical - stifling to sea breeze
       in five minutes.

Indeed PNW people, the cool nights are back! The seabreeze out
on the coast yesterday was excellent, high around 21°C (70 °F).
Not too windy, but enough of a breeze it was a bit chilly in the
shade for shorts and a t-shirt.

I just got the alert we are under a red flag warning Friday and
       Saturday - forecast highs are 27 °C (81 °F) and 30 °C (86 °F).
This must mean northeast wind off the high desert and very low
humidity (maybe 30%!). That isn't unheard of out here on the
coast, but it doesn't happen very often. I believe this is the
first red flag warning for my county this year. The previous
heat waves were not dry here. It was humid AF.
I think I am still traumatized by the wildfire season of 2020.
It makes me more nervous than it used to. Stay safe, PNW folks.
You will probably be able to hear me whine about the heat all
the way up there in Seattle.
I must confess, I am looking forward to a very cool and dry walk
on Saturday morning. Those are very rare treats around here.

Can’t help that Chicago was built on unstable land either. You
need to build dikes and windmills like the Netherlands.

Ugh. Forest fire smoke this morning. I was really hoping I'd
miss out on the smoke this summer.
