Dear Winter,
When I said
I gladly invite you to Boston as much as you
like, as long as it doesn't inconvenience me too much
I
did not mean that you should take it as an invitation to dump
the first measurable snow in the middle of the evening commute
on one of the few days I actually had to go to the office.
Please wait until I've safely made it back to my deathtrap of a
parking lot before unleashing your full fury.
Thank you,
A concerned fan
So far it's all pretty underwhelming. Although there was a
large portion of a pine tree on my back lawn this morning, so
I'm guessing icing might be a thing.

It's not even snow here yet, and it's looking like it'll
probably be fine to drive in this evening too. Fingers crossed!

I'm not sure this counts as one good storm, Mother Nature, but I
appreciate the attempt.

And I do not. Starts wet, freezes the ensuing snow onto the wet
pavement, freezes Youngest's windshield wipers to his
windshield, decks impossible to clear, cold as fuck, blustery,
and still not nearly enough to ski on. All-around fail, let's
move straight on to spring pls thx.

Portland got it much worse than we did on the coast. I hope
everyone in the cold today is okay. There's a lot of people
without power:
HTML https://www.npr.org/2023/02/23/1158998369/winter-storm-update-power-outages-michigan-california-snow
In the West, Portland received 10 inches of snow in the
second-snowiest day ever recorded, Oregon Public Broadcasting
reported.

I think my heater did not cycle off much all night trying to
keep up with the wind chill here. It will get worse before it
gets better. Sunny, but too cold to enjoy it.
WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST TODAY
WHAT... Very cold wind chills. Wind chills as low as 5 above
zero.
WHERE... Portions of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.
WHEN... Until noon PST today. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills
could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

We are supposed to get 3-5" tomorrow. Local weather coverage is
SO STARVED for a storm that they're acting like this is the
second coming of the 2015 Snowmaggedon (okay, that's a slight
exaggeration). I predict this means we will get bupkis.
