Re: Weather: Everybody talks about it

Well this morning it is -11F here, with a windchill of -30F.
And according to the weather reports, we have had 13 inches of
snow in the last 24 hours.
So it's a good day to bake and I'll probably make a batch of
chili so that I won't have to make another dinner until
Christmas Eve.
Unfortunately I will also need to do some shoveling, but I don't
really mind. My husband will crank up the snow blower and do a
lot of the snow removal. It is stunningly beautiful outside -
but it's also good to be retired with no need to drive to work.
Happy here in Minnesota right now, but don't ask me how I feel
about winter in a couple of months - my opinion will certainly
change.

I kind of agree with this. I知 a weather junkie but even I have
quit following the news of the storm. They sensationalize it so
much ramping up peoples anxiety, yes mine too, that we lose
sight of the fact that these storms have always existed and
people have dealt with them.
I just walked to the little corner store and yes it was very
cold but I was mostly dressed for it and survived quite nicely.
I知 holding off on a bigger trip to the store until Saturday.
And if it is still really nasty we値l do without.

Two positive thoughts:
Starting today, we start to gain more daylight.
Less than 90 days from now, it'll be the vernal equinox.

I'm thinking there might be nothing left. The place I went to
today: no eggs; almost no butter; only specialty milks. Plus
everybody was in line.

That seldom happens here. We don稚 do the stock up before a
storm thing.
But the place I still want to go before Christmas as if I can is
a Nut store.

-8コ, feels like -27コ at the nearest weather station to my house.
We're looking at a high of 1コ and maybe more light snow today.
Ziva needed to be ordered to come down the stairs and stayed
outside less than a minute. Good girl. (It took me longer to
walk to the trash bin and back.)
