Weather: Everybody talks about it

We're having our first snowstorm of the season. The roads are
fairly bad and the problem is exacerbated by the newbies who
don't know how to drive in it and don't have the sense to stay
home until it's safe. The first one seems like it's always the
worst.
LCP would be in heaven if she could get anyone to go outside
with her. You can just see her little brain trying to figure
out how it could possibly be that we don't think this is super
fun. She keeps bringing her favorite toy to the door and
inviting us to come outside and play.

living room, having already run in here to tell me to look out

It was 2 degrees outside when I left for work, I do not share
LCP's joy.
I bet even Lab is wearing pants today.

With windchill, 18F here in DC metro on morning of 2nd snow
storm in last four days.
Everyone in the country saw on Mon the cluster that is DC in a
snowstorm.
I'd gladly brave the cold to go out to play with LCP: I've never
played in the snow with a Lab, but I bet pretty good money that
I'd love it.

Today there are 4 weather warnings and advisories for flooding
and high winds here (2 fewer than the last couple of days).
But, wet and windy isn't so bad when the temperature is above
freezing. Heck, today the high is forecast at a balmy 9 degrees
C. Those of you in the cold, try to stay warm.

When I first got Dakota, we went to Humboldt Park for winter
walks. The lagoon froze over enough to walk on, and there was a
huge building on the edge of the lagoon with an outdoor balcony.
One day, we're out on the ice, and a guy is standing on the
balcony idly throwing snowballs in no particular direction.
Dakota notices the throwing and pulls me closer to that end of
the lagoon. So I ask the guy to throw some near her. (I've got
her on a 30' leash and let it play all the way out.) He throws a
snowball, and it lands about 10' from her in about a foot of
powdery snow. She sprints to it, noses the snow, digs for a bit,
and comes out with the snowball. I ask him to do it again, and
she does the same thing. He enjoys the game, too, and repeats it
several more times. She always came up with his snowball.
The short answer is: you'd absolutely love playing in the snow
with a Lab.

As far as I can tell, this one makes absolutely everything into
the funnest game ever.
ME: LCP, go to your bed.
LCP: (sprints pell mell across the room and leaps into her bed
with a joyous in-air full twist, lands facing me, ready for the
next exciting thing.)
ME: LCP, get your head out of the dishwasher.
LCP: (Jumps away from dishwasher, faces me expectantly,
awaiting the next exciting thing.)
ME: LCP, sit.
LCP: Stops eating her dinner mid-chew, sits promptly, gazes
intently at me awaiting the next exciting thing.)
I can't even describe the aquatic games of fetch, the thing
where the verminator pretends to be mad and whacks her
repeatedly and she likes it, or how excited she gets at the mere
sight of the pheasant hunting shotgun's case.
Everything is fun. Ev. Ry. Thing.
