Hi - I am registered, but I am unsure if I am posting correctly.
Anyway - anyone in here?
Also - do I have to verify that I am human every time I want to
post?

OK - it seems that there are more of the old gang here than on
Reddit.
While it may take me some time to get used to this forum I think
I may like it more than Reddit in the long run.

YMMV but I like reddit only for technical posts with questions
and answers related to work. For general conversations I don't
find the format very usable.

VH, I use the links at the top of the page to navigate (mostly
"Show unread posts since last visit."), and you can always click
on the Members icon to see who's here. Apparently you can send
direct messages to people, but I haven't figured out how to do
that yet.

So glad you're here! I am finding this place very nice - in my
opinion, better than WaPo. And Reddit is just confusing to me -
plus I started worrying about privacy issues over there. Reddit
(the whole of Reddit) has a much bigger audience at the least, I
really have no idea how to evaluate privacy on a website but
just feel more comfortable here.

Go to "My Messages", and hit "send a message" - in the "to"
field, you can put in any member's name, and then you'll be able
to write and send them a PM.
Note: You may find it useful to go into your settings and set
the messages up to save a copy of what you send by default (or
it won't, you'll have to tell it to save a copy to your outbox
via the checkmark underneath everytime) and you can choose there
if you want to see them as conversation view, all lumped
together, or what.

Even simpler than that, click on the quote bubble below the
person's avatar on a post. (Look to the left)
