Well, now that you figured out how to post it, you will never
have to go through that annoying CAPTCHA again. There are a
couple of tutorials for navigating and using the forum in this
same General Discussion area, can post the links to take you
straight there if you would like.

Just to clarify, thread of the day is available immediately. 5
posts opens up Our Lives unless added to bandmember category for

Welcome to haxnuts, if I may take the liberty of saying so since
I'm not a moderator here.
Most conversation goes on under Thread of the Day, for the day.
I should warn you that when you respond to someone's post via
the Quote button, your comment will appear in its chronological
sort order, often on a later page, rather than under the
original comment. You don't get the continuity of comment
threads that you do on WaPo. But I still enjoy the
back-and-forth and keeping up with the regulars. Try it, see if
you like it.

I'm glad to be here. I'm off to a slow start; at 83 learning
new things -- acclimating to a new site doesn't come quickly and
my retention rate could be better.
And I'm intimidated by all those little boxes -- I counted 19!
of them -- above the 15 smiley faces...
Can we have a 'Quick Start' set of instructions? Then perhaps
that can be followed up with a list of boxes, each with an
explanation of their function?

you don't need to use any of the boxes, just type.
