Lasagna, Sunday Gravy, meatballs, sausage, cheesecake.
Just typing that made me feel full.

If you replace the cheesecake with pastries from the Italian
bakery, it's the dinner my mother makes. Plus bread, but I'm
guessing with that meal, the bread goes without saying.
Just reading your post made me hungry.

Court Pastry, Brooklyn, NY! But it's too far to drive.
I usually make rainbow cookies too.
       [/quote]
Court Pastry wasn't too far from my parents' old neighborhood.
We'd get pastries from there every once in a while, when they
       went back to visit.
I love the rainbow cookies. My mother's sister makes them.

I'm the only person in my department at the hospital, and I take
the night call (all the while hoping nothing bad happens to
anyone --- I'm pretty much only called when someone dies).
Everyone else has a family. I'm just a guy with a dog.

I hope you don't get called.
Not everyone else. I'm just a lady with a cat at Christmas. It
works though. It beats what was by miles.

You know I meant "in my department," right? But you're right. It
is what it should be for me, too.

My Italian-American Aunt made a good Christmas lasagna on the
rare occasions she hosted. Hated lasagna until I tasted hers.
(Don't ask, the school made a horrible white lasagna that makes
my stomach churn to this day just thinking of it.) I still
don't make lasagna though. What single person can eat a whole
casserole with a few pounds of pasta in it?

The single person who has room in the freezer for half of the
lasagna. It freezes really well. I have made lasagna for just
myself. If I could eat cheese or cheese substitutes I would
       still make lasagna for myself.

Christmas Day breakfast is always the same thing: scrambled eggs
with cheddar cheese, bacon, toast with butter and strawberry
       jam.
For Christmas Day dinner, my BIL痴 are coming over with their
kids. I知 making spanakopita, deviled eggs, and bacon wrapped
       dates.
One of my BIL痴 received a country ham for a gift so he is
bringing that. I知 not sure about anything else but none of are
are really committed to a traditional menu so I知 sure it will
       all work out.
Today I知 taking the kids to Pilsen because I feel like tamales
and I heard their decorations are great this year. Maybe I値l
just end up serving spanakopita and leftover tamales. I mean,
       there are worse things.

Yesterday, my co-worker had a leftover lamb chop for lunch.
Today, I'm hearing about leftover tamales.

I don't understand the concept of leftover tamales. And I've
never even seen a leftover lamb chop before yesterday.

I am still deciding what I知 having. Leaning towards the beef
rice a roni, with the broccoli lo mein running a close second.
Pretty sure the unicorn is having pork fried rice and would be
very happy if I go the lo mein route.
