Dutch Oven Recipes

I did it! I got a Dutch Oven, almost 20 years after I gave my
parent's set away. I know, dumb. Two were in the set, thank you
Costco. 4 and 7 qt. sizes. I managed to find/make room in a
kitchen cabinet for the 4 qt. size. Haven't opened up the 7 qt.
yet. That one may have to reside somewhere in the basement,
although I was sort of hoping son would take it.
Interested in seeing some of your favorite recipes.
Some caveats on that:
I don't/can't eat spicy food.
We don't eat a lot of red meat - Mr. even less than I, but I do
love a good pork rib.
Would be interested in chicken/poultry, seafood and veggie
dishes.
Made Ina Garten's risotto last night. So much easier than the
stovetop version I've been making, that's for sure. Although
next time I'm going to reduce the parmesan cheese a little. Her
recipe calls for peas only, but I added sautéed mushrooms,
asparagus and shrimp along with the peas. Just had some of the
leftovers as my main meal for today. Yum.

Do you bake? I mostly use mine specifically for bread.
Otherwise, they are super-handy for pretty much any dish that
goes from stovetop to oven.

I can't find the thread now, but I posted how I make pot roast
in my dutch oven. I think it was in the food/recipe section.
Anyway, you could do a pork roast in it in a similar way.
A couple of other people may have posted recipes in that thread
too. I've done chicken breasts as well. Also, stews.
Enjoy! You'll fall in love with it.

Yes, I bake. I printed out a receipt for no knead artisan bread
that looks good.

Heddy, yes! I've also baked bread in there. The steam or
whatever from the top sealing it in makes it really good.

In general I use the dutch oven-type pots I have for soups,
stews, sauces, etc.
Also, this would be fine in a smaller dutch oven, straight from
stove to oven. This is my new favorite way to eat turkey legs.
Good for 2 people. I usually mix veggies and parsley in with the
rice though.

Enjoy yours!

Here are some Martha Stewart ones. I find Martha Stewart
