I'm looking for holiday cookie recipes and thought we could have

not just solicit :)

Mine are all super easy. One stick of butter, one egg, and the
Betty Crocker cookie mix packet ;)

Keeping my promises: these brownie cookies were a big hit last
time I made them, so they've earned a spot in the December
rotation this year:

I don't have recipes but all of us cousins fought over my aunt's
brown butter toffee cookies. This aunt from Baton Rouge always
made the most delicious pecan pralines too. Both of those are
"Christmas cookies" in my mind.

Basic Snowball cookies
48 cookies or so
1 cup softened butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups nuts (walnuts or pecans or a mix)
powdered sugar
(partner sometimes adds anise, I prefer the taste without)
pre-heat oven to 325
mix butter and sugar until creamy, add vanilla (anise) and beat
until well mixed
add flour and nuts, beat until well mixed, scraping the bowl
occasionally
roll into 1 inch balls
bake 15-18 minutes
roll in powdered sugar while still warm, and once again when
cooled.
My aunt left me all my cookie recipes, sworn to secrecy, but
this one I know is mostly from a a butter company's packaging,
tweaked just a little, so I can share.
Edit: we generally cut the amount of the nuts by half or so, but
the recipe calls for more than we like.

I have to variously dig up/find my recipes, but here are a
couple of my family's classics:
HTML https://sites.google.com/view/heymouxcookbook/grandmas-spritz-cookies
HTML https://sites.google.com/view/heymouxcookbook/chocolate-cranberry-chunkies
HTML https://sites.google.com/view/heymouxcookbook/apricot-squares
And this sucker is SO finicky and SO much work and I have never
made it, but it was my sister's special recipe for many many
years and I can attest that they were amazing, worth all the
work, and if a tray of them appeared in front of me, I would eat
the entire tray. In fact, I would eat two entire trays of them
and still be looking for more. As I recall, you can also stick
them in the freezer immediately after filling and preserve them
that way.

I won't share a recipe because mostly I just google one up each
time, but back when I baked for the holidays my chocolate-dipped
shortbread was extremely popular. So it goes: make shortbread.
Dip half of each one in melted chocolate. Let cool on
parchment. Drizzle with white chocolate.
These ship and store very well and you can make a crapton at
once because they're basically bar cookies.
