Lila met her new adoptive mommy today. She has left for a trial
run to see if it will work out.
It was very sad and I cried. Although Laura adopted her 6 years
ago we never had to say goodbye. We could see her any time and
she often came over for the afternoon to visit before we
realized I was allergic to her. Many times I would knock on
Laura s door to say hi and Lila would make a beeline to our door
and we would let her visit for a couple of hours. I guess Lila
had two homes and two sets of parents for 6 years.
So today was goodbye for us if this trial run turns into a
       permanent home.

Awww, I'm sad and happy for you all at once.

Best of luck to all of you -- to Lila that she has a nice new
home, to Lila's new mom that she has an interesting new kitty in
her life, and to you, that Lila's future will be assured and
that you won't have to worry about her *or* have to work around
the issues of living with a critter to whom you're allergic.
Will you be able to visit Lila in her new place?

It never occurred to me to ask. We have received our first
photo of Lila in her new home.

Oh, I'm so glad you've found someone to take her and fingers
       crossed that it works out!

The person from whom I adopted Hoshi asked if I wouldn't mind
giving updates on him from time to time. Perhaps Lila's new
family wouldn't mind doing the same for you even if you can't
       physically visit her.
I know this is heart-wrenching for you, but I do hope this is
Lila's new forever home, since it has to be hard on her as well.

She is being so sweet so us. We have two pics already of Lila
in her new home. It looks like she is settling in. She thinks
Lila is lovely. So I'm hopeful we found a good fit.

Have you heard any more about Lila? Is her new family still
updating you from time to time?

I am not being updated but the onus is on my neighbour to reach
out as she was the real parent. I believe she is going to do
that soon because she found the documentation for her rabies.
