But it never stops amusing me to get a twitter notification like
"ButtSweat565474 liked your reply"
Who would choose that, and why are there 565473 other people
that beat them to it?
And yes my cub tweets are at the level that appeals to buttsweat
level people.

I would guess ButtSweat was either a drunk or a teen (or a
drunken teen) when s/he made up that name. Or did it on a dare
or a whim.
But yeah, I often wonder about the thought processes that go
into picking account names.

Unless it offends, I might just post random thoughts I want out
in the universe here in my own thread so they are easily
ignored.
First, please don't change it but on the bottom of the page
there's a thing to click to "go up", and that's great, but at
the top of the page it says "go down" and I giggle like a 14
year old every time I click it.
Second, Back in the pre y2k era I posted on espn's baseball
boards, and it was a thousand times the cesspool wapo ever was,
but there was a core group of really great people and when espn
eventually disbanded message boards, about 20 of us had our own
board on a forum similar to this and we lasted like 6 years
until attrition made it fade, we have many more people here and
six years would be great, so what I'm saying is I hope this
lasts and if anyone has anything they think I can do to help
make it last please shout at me. I haven't gone to reddit the
last few days, say hi to those people if you do, I am fine with
there being two places and don't think we have to choose.
Third, as a shoutout, I really appreciated tom's posts on the
comment thread about killing OT. Much more reasoned than I could
be, his posts helped calm me down about the whole thing. Tried
so well to reach out to the other side, fruitlessly, but thanks
for trying.

That's how I react everytime I see the category somebody
started, labeled "HobbyStreaking."
I popped into their thread & posted that I didnt understand the
term, but cracked up, nonetheless. I then wished the
"Streakers" a good day.
If we cant entertain ourselves, what's the point ? ;)

No worries, I found the option yesterday for those buttons to be
available when I was trying to figure out the increase quote
text size.
But the real question is... do you purposely go to the top of
the page just so you can click the button again? :D

I call that string of numbers at the end a phone number and
typically block or ignore those accounts. It seems like a huge
flag announcing your bot status.
