I never had vinegar pie, but I would probably try it.
I made the Salty Honey pie from the Four & Twenty Blackbirds
cookbook a few years ago. I think it was a love it or hate it
thing because a few people went nuts over it but I just couldn’t
get into it.
I am bringing these desserts to my Mom’s:
Cherry and cornmeal upside down cake
Apple crisp
Pumpkin pie in a regular crust
Pumpkin pie in a gingersnap crumb crust

Gingersnap crust is good, but don't use the Martha Stewart
recipe. Just make a Graham cracker crust and substitute
gingersnaps.
It's the only Martha Stewart recipe that's ever failed me.

Queenie suggested it and it’s delicious. I think custard pies
almost always taste better in a crumb crust.

DC and I put our heads together recently for our Just the Two Of
Us Thanksgiving -
Since Chanukah starts the Sunday after Thanksgiving, we decided
to kind of incorporate the two holidays. He'll be making sweet
potato latkes, which we'll top with my cranberry sauce. He's
also requested a more tart cranberry chutney for a more savory
topping.

Classic Apple Crumb Pie from Foodnetwork.com Best apple pie
I’ve ever had. And maybe pumpkin pie too. One pie for each of
us!

Been thinking...about a fancy stew for Thanksgiving so I can do
prep ahead. The kind with the red wine and all that. Christmas
last year I had delivered from a local restaurant. I was on my
own with daughter stopping by. Everyone had covid that was not
us. It was surf n turf, ribeye with a mushroom marsala sauce,
crumb topped shrimp and scallops in white wine butter sauce.
There was soup(minestrone) and salads and sauteed spinach.
Desert was cheesecake with a dollop of caramel icing. I at like
a queen for days. I have been toying with looking at something
on Goldbelly this year and if anyone has a regional specialty
they are familiar with that is on there then please chime in. I
got a 50 dollar certificate from a Zoom arthritis seminar. :-\
What in the emoji???

Don't know if it would work with Thanksgiving, but Russ and
Daughters is on goldbelly.

I have been in love with food since I was a toddler in my
Grandma's restaurant.

I am musing about how I'm not really so much a pie fan exactly
and that what I really want to do is convert all of these to
bars: Key lime bars, pecan pie bars, and even (ugh) pumpkin pie
bars with gingersnap base. The only changes I'd really have to
make is to switch the pecan base to shortbread and probably
tweak the amounts to fill a 9X13 pan.
