For a quick chocolate dessert, I would make these cupcakes in a
mini cupcake tin. I like to have a few bites of a lot of
desserts on Thanksgiving and mini is built in sizing.
If you need another vegan dessert, maybe make these with vegan
cream cheese? I’ve never done it but there are some good ones on
the market. I use vanilla bean paste in the cream cheese layer
to give it a more distinct vanilla/chocolate flavor.

Yummmm. Have you made them before? I agree with you on bite
size. No matter how much I try, I never successfully "save room
       for dessert"
These look like they'd save well if I made them a few days
       before.

I’ve made them quite a bit, but never vegan. My FIL love
chocolate. I like them because they don’t require frosting so it
makes them easy to transport. I also use mini chocolate chips in
       the cream cheese swirl

This year I’ll be doing the traditional turkey, stuffing, etc
       etc. nothing special.
Only three of us this year again.
My favorite is the stuffing, and a few years ago I started
baking it in the big muffin baking tin. It cooks faster, plus
every serving gets crispy outside bits and tender inside part.
       Yumm

       I love cranberry pie.
I like cranberries in general. My Mom said cranberries were hard
to find near her, which is weird because cranberries are grown
in Wisconsin. So I picked up 3 bags, my brother was traveling
for work and found some at a grocery store and bought 3 more. We
       are cranberry rich!

Don't know that I've ever had a cranberry pie. It sounds
       interesting.

I’ve been assigned apple tart and a veggie dish of my choice
(don’t know what that’s going to be yet!)

Stuffing is my favorite—great tip—I’m going to have to try that!

My mom decided it was less work than pie—can’t say I disagree.
It will be my first time doing an apple tart, so hopefully I
don’t screw it up too badly !

Spouse's family recipe is stuffing balls — eggs, butter, squishy
bread, plus aromatics, and squish into balls and bake on a sheet
       tray. Clean up is easy!

We've watched a couple of seasons of this Food Network
Thanksgiving cooking competition that Giada hosts. Last night
one of the cooks made a Honey Vinegar pie that he said was a
traditional Midwestern dessert for Thanksgiving. My parents
lived in Indiana for 13 years and I had never heard of it - and
neither had they. Is it more an Ohio thing? The cook was from
       Cincinnati.
Looked very similar to Chess pie but with vinegar and honey
added for flavor. Not a lot of ingredients so I think your crust
would have to be on point.

My maternal grandmother made "vinegar pies". Her vinegar pie
was very similar to chess pie or buttermilk pie. She claimed it
was a recipe used when other ingredients were unavailable. Her
ancestors lived in Georgia, Indiana, and Tennessee, but the
family moved to Texas when her grandmother was a youngster.
