The upside down cake looks so good, but family members who like
cherries don't like cornbread, and vice versa. I would love it.
I pretty much stick to basics: Joy of Cooking cranberry sauce; a
chestnut stuffing with fennel, leek, and sausage; a cornbread
and sausage stuffing for son who doesn't like chestnuts; a not
sophisticated sweet potatoes with marshmallow, but we've been
having trouble getting good sweet potatoes so I'll use blue
pumpkin; mashed potatoes; green beans almondine with garlic;
plain green beans for son. And Parker House rolls, unless I run
out of time. Then it's take and bake from the grocery store.
Sometimes I make mushroom caps stuffed with butternut squash,
pecans, and wild rice. Dessert is usually pumpkin pie, lemon
meringue pie, and brownies.

I LOVE lemon meringue pie.
Parker House rolls are delightful but it’s a lot of work for a
small yield so the first thing I punt to store bought when I’m
hosting.

I do, too. Husband is from outside Philly, and it's a holiday
tradition in his family. I was very happy to adopt it.
I sometimes get help with the rolls, but have grabbed the take
and bake more than once. In the past few years, it's only been 4
of us for holidays, so the yield isn't as big a deal.

You are both WRONG, because key lime pie has everything good
about lemon meringue pie (citrus curd) and nothing bad (possibly
gluey filling, sweaty meringue), and also, graham cracker crust
is superior.
Key! Lime! Key! Lime!
Also, key lime pie has perhaps the highest effort/deliciousness
ratio of any food in the universe.

Mom made biscuits one year for Thanksgiving, and when it's just
us, that's what I've stuck with ever since. Quick, easy, and I
can roll out and cut ahead of time, freeze, then pop in the
freezer.
Of course, that last is true of sourdough rolls too ... don't
tell my spouse? :D

I love Key Lime pie. And Key Lime cheesecake.
