Kitten chow. Seriously. All I could find is one of those tiny
bags, and the senior cats elbow the kittens out of their way
when I put down kitten chow in the morning.

No eggs at my store yesterday due to the avian flu.
I'm sure if I wanted to shop around I could find them.
I have started shopping every couple of days and keeping running
lists - also trying to buy staples prior to need.
Things that I have had to look for multiple times include green
peppers, tamari (GF soy sauce), and sometimes the Greek yogurt
brand I prefer.

manufactured in China.

Organic large coconut flakes. For three months I have ordered
them but they don't have them. My favorite peanut butter is
available now, but only in chunky style. I really want the
creamy version, but at least they have it. Last few monthly
grocery orders have been mostly filled.
The long backordered laboratory supplies finally arrived in
early April. I am looking ahead to order the next batch of
supplies (about 9 months before I need them) soon, just in case.
I spoke to someone who orders laboratory supplies for college
science courses, and she said there are shortages of preserved
specimens for biology lab classes. She couldn't find any rats,
fetal pigs were in short supply, etc.

I don't know how large is large to you. But I get mine (used in
making granola) at Target. They're about 1/4 inch wide and some
are well over an inch long. You might check if you have a
Target store near you. Alternately they ship for free if you
have a red card and your order at least $35 . You can check
availability in your local store and/or availability shipping to
you on their website. They also have a pretty accurate picture
of the product.
Earlier in the pandemic, when my Target was out of GF pasta for
forever (it seemed), I ordered a bunch of staples like that to
get my order up to the minimum - but I have a red card.

I was thinking it was more due to the avian flu. The kitten
food, issue, I mean. Not sure about the frozen knuckles.
If fetal pigs are in low supply then there's an issue somewhere
in the pork supply chain, which might account for the raw bone
things too.

This got me curious so I looked up the brand. Natural Balance
is manufactured in the US. Protein sources come from US, India,
France, New Zealand and Canada. Plant ingredients and additives
source not disclosed.
I started using this brand about 10 years ago. It was one of
the few brands that Harmony could eat that didn't cause diahhrea
and didn't cost a fortune. I continued on with it because we
still had Coco and she liked it. I'm still keeping with it
because now Sasha likes it. I tried introducing another brand
and still offer it but they eat it at a much slower pace. This
apparently is the food I'm stuck with.

My washing machine broke two weeks ago. It needs a $40 part,
and won't run without it. The washer is just over 2 years old.
Estimated arrival of the back-ordered part? August. Hi ho, hi
ho, it's off to the laundromat I go.

We're moving and the housing market where we're headed doesn't
leave appliances with the house, so we're taking the washer and
dryer. All appliances conveying is the norm here. I feel for
whoever buys our house, but I can't take horse and guinea pig
blankets/towels to the laundry mat. And this set is only 2 years
old.
