And joining the boys in making the elder cats nuts comes this
little beauty:
[attach=1]
A colleague mentioned that facebook friends had posted about
her. They rescued her from the street, but have 4 dogs and can't
keep the cat.
Yes, I did clear it with my husband (after I told my colleague
to see if the kit was still available). As I rather
anticipated, he said yes.
(My initial plan was to sneak her in when I brought the boys
over for the weekend, but you Just Don't Do stuff like that to
your partner.)
She does not yet have a name. We get her on Saturday so the
family who rescued her can have a chance to say goodbye.

I am jealous. We shall be requiring daily photos, ya know!
One of my FB cat groups calls black cats "voids."

Boys are spending the weekend with us. They have some sort of
worms or something; everyone has dropped weight and we're
drugging them up. They're still playful and just as eager to
shoulder-sit.
New girl (still unnamed) spent 5 minutes being "scared" when I
let her out of the carrier at 4:45. She's been galoomphing about
with whichever of the little boys is around. Here is her debut
portrait:

She's adorable! And so are the other 7, but she's especially
adorable. I'd call her Chinchilla, but I'm sure there's about a
bazillion other names that would be as good.

Omg a Siamese! I love them, and she’s gorgeous.
One of my girl Siamese was Shana. Current one is Sasha (using
the S for both was not intentional. There was 18 years between
them, and Sasha just seemed like the right name for her.
My first Siamese mom’s name was Serapatina, Tina for short.
Looking forward to seeing more pics.

Winston and Ignis Fatuus spent the night at the emergency vet
last night. We took them in because it seemed like they just
weren't as playful and both have serious diarrhea. Brought them
home after $500 bucks and as we were getting them out of the
carrier Winston went into that classic convulsion pose. Ignis
would walk a step or two and then fall over. Took them back (to
the tune of 2K more) and the vet determined both were
hypoglycemic, hypothermic, and Winston is a little anemic.
I called this morning. Ignis is eating, active and alert, and
his sugar levels are good again, but his temp is still too low
so they want to keep him a bit longer. Winston is generally the
same as Ignis, but he keeps having periods of lethargy, so
they're watching him a bit closer. He's the runt and seems to
be failing to thrive anyway, so hopefully the 2 days in the
hospital (I suspect he won't be released tonight) will help. No
parasites found in any of the lab work.
If anyone has a little mojo to spare a couple of puny-feeling
kittens, we'd be grateful.
