       NY Times crossword puzzle

       Yesterday I didn't get the puzzle done before midnight Eastern
       time (I'm central). Of course that broke my streak, which was
       disappointing but fair enough; I let myself get sidetracked by
       the kittens and our game night. I was mildly surprised it
       counted Friday's puzzle as the first in the new streak but hey,
       one less day to try to make up the longest solving streak.  This
       morning I did today's puzzle. When I checked my stats, they gave
       me credit for doing yesterday and today on the previous streak.
       Not a complaint, really, since I'm at 50 days in a row solved
       this way, but I wish they'd be consistent...

       I protest 13 across in today's NYT puzzle.
       (Then again, the puzzle-solving conventions may have changed
       since I used to do them every day but I don't think so.)
