Thank you for creating this forum. First day here and I am still
trying to figure it out.
Hope this works out.
I miss the ease of WaPo to be honest.

[/quote]It'll get easier over time, VH. As we all get more adept
with the formats we'll be able to do things easily enough, just
as we did at WP. And people can absolutely have their avatars
back, which will make it easier to spot the posters I often want
to look out for to read their posts.

Is it possible to eliminate all ratings except perhaps a simple
up vote. Thus, in order to express an opinion you have to be
willing to express an opinion.

From what I saw, it’s all or nothing. And I’m pretty sure that
Queenie will cry if we take away the dumb button. Which we
repurposed to mean annoyed/mad/the people IN this post are dumb,
not the poster.
Although… I have to say, on volume alone, so far it doesn’t look
like we need to encourage people to express an opinion…

Could we please have a Sports entry in the "In the News"
section? That way, those of us who like them can find each
other, while those who don't can act like it doesn't exist.
One topic I'm interested in discussing is the phenomenon of
athletes discussing their mental health challenges more openly.

Is there a sub forum for discussing how Covid is impacting our
lives and world, to help people cope, exchange information,
discuss the news and science, to offer and get online support
and maybe even ask for and give real life assistance?

Not one specifically dedicated to that. People who are looking
for support in general either post about it on the daily thread,
or in Mojo Requests and Updates.
Discussing news and science happens on the daily thread, or in
"In the News"
We haven't seemed to really need a subforum dedicated to Covid
and ongoing impact with those as places to post/talk about all
kinds of stuff, I suggest posting in those and seeing what kind
of response you get and see if that will work first, and if you
still think a separate area is needed, I'll poll and see whether
it's something the community wants in general (for reference, at
this point, my role is mostly coordinator, people make
suggestions and I coordinate figuring out whether that's
something the community wants or doesn't want and try to find
solutions that work for everyone when it's split).

Well, she can start a thread somewhere in the existing
structure, but I think (please correct me if I'm wrong,
Morticia) she's looking for a sub-forum along the lines of
"Parenting and Families" or "Projects", Setting up that kind of
sub-forum/board is a thing I would have to do from a structural
standpoint, and it would be a thing I would poll to see if
people wanted it, probably under "Our Lives" as a catgorization.

I was looking for Sports too.
Didn't find it anywhere but I may be looking in the wrong
places. ?
