Milan Cortina Olympics

There's going to be figure skating. I figure
[member=134]VanGoghSunflowers[/member] needs a place to babble.
;)

Also, this was interesting - the first time in a long time that
an entirely new sport (or variant of a sport) has been added to
the Winter Olympics. Skimo:

I'm curious to see how it is to watch.

Okay, so which one of my coworkers asked you to make sure there
was no repeat of the 2022 Epic Figure Skating Rant?

I can't just be thinking of you and want you to have a comfy
space??

Well since you've given me the space...
I actually hadn't watched any of the skating yesterday or this
afternoon, so I'm catching up now. In 2022, the Peacock app had
an option to watch the full competitions - from warmup to
Zamboni clearing between groups, every single second - with no
commentary at all.
This year I can only find the replays of what aired on TV. Which
means commentary, no warm ups so far, and they're skipping the
kiss and cry (score reveals) unless they think Americans care
about the skater in question. And it cuts in and out where they
went to commercials or other sports or whatever.
I do not like this. I feel like I'm missing so much! I would pay
even more for the 2022 setup.
I can't say if other sports are this annoying because the 9000
hours of figure skating are all the Olympics I can handle.

I don't watch the Olympics. I don't watch television, ever. But
what you are describing might be one of the reasons why I don't.
That and my aversion to noise.
I hope it improves or you find a better viewing option. I
really appreciate people who love sports, it's just not me. But
the athletes deserve an audience.

I don't watch Olympics but I’ve been reading about Lindsey Vonn
and rooting for her comeback to be successful, despite thinking
she was reckless. So sad to read she crashed almost immediately
and airlifted out. Hope she’ll be ok physically and mentally.

You didn’t warn about a spoiler alert!
Sad to read she dashed (correction- crashed). One report said
it wasn’t related to the acl tear, but time will tell. [s][/s]

Oh I’m sorry! I didn’t realize it may not have been broadcasted
yet. I saw the headline when I briefly glanced at NPR non
political news.
