I couldn’t figure out which icon was best for “dubious” so went
       with bad spelling.
These things are always so odd. It’s like they call a couple of
random people in the state and then say that’s the favorite.
I don’t doubt Buffalo Dip is high on the Minnesota list but
       whether it’s #1 I have no idea.
And the article refers to boiled eggs as a common snack so I’m
envisioning hard boiled eggs which makes no sense. But then the
picture is deviled eggs which does.
Oddly written article. Either AI or by someone whose never been
       to a Super Bowl party

What are your favorites for Super Bowl snacks (either making or
       eating)?

Yes, these things are always suspect (yet good for a
lighthearted discussion). Many of these "surveys" are based on
Google searches around the time of the celebration. The article
cites the original source, which uses this method. But a strong
favorite that no one feels the need to look up (like onion dip
with chips) would get short shrift using such a measure. Not to
       mention take-out pizza or KFC.
I find it easy to believe that there are general regional
differences. For example, pimiento cheese is likely to be found
in the southeast. No idea why the Northwest might prefer
chocolate chip cookies over something savory. But still, it
seems likely that these results are exaggerating very weak
differences. You can easily name a couple dozen pretty popular
snacks, so good chance that the most popular of these would get
less than 5% of searches. So if one state has 7 layer dip at
3.95% of searches while quesadillas got 3.87% that's how a
winner is picked. Another thing that occurred to me while typing
this is if a regional paper has an interesting article, it might
bias things. "I heard WaPo had an article on crab cakes for the
Super Bowl" could end up changing things in enough numbers to be
       seen.
The hard-boiled egg thing is a bit of quirk -- does it come from
the new high protein, anti processed food kick or is it
mischaracterizing the first step in making deviled eggs? (I am
totally voting for the deviled eggs explanation, having brought
them to a Super Bowl party last year.)
Am I prone to over-analysis? Yes.

I might search for Crab Cakes now that you’ve reminded me how
delicious they are. But where I live there is no chance for
fresh crab so I have to use canned and then my Maryland SIL
       would disown me.
Truth is we’ll watch the Superbowl at home and more than likely
       won’t have any special snacks.

       “ Am I prone to over-analysis? Yes.”
       😂
You’d get along well with someone I know who is driving me batty
over which shade of white paint to choose for a room.
Also, I prefer Dungeness crab over Blue crab, which is
       considered sacrilegious in Maryland.
And I will probably eat snacks without watching the Super Bowl.
ETA: just looked, and Seahawks are playing. Really not ok to
admit I just found this out, living where I do.

I won't be watching the Super Bowl, we are not sports fans. I
usually just check to see when it's on so that I don't disturb
my son and DIL who are huge football fans (and soccer fans).
I might take advantage of the grocery store promotions and buy
chicken wings and bake them for dinner. We often have buffalo
sauce (not sure if that's the same as "Buffalo Dip") but with
breaded, baked chicken breast strips and salad with blue cheese
dressing. Chicken wings aren't something I normally buy.
My favorite snacks are potato chips and other crunchy salty
snacks. So I won't be buying them because I'll eat all of them.

Our Superbowl snacks vary, depending on what I feel like making.
We're probably getting sushi this year.
But in the past I've done wings, dumplings, guacamole, shrimp
cocktail, mini franks, stuffed mushrooms, and I can't remember
what else. Probably pizza or the mini pizza bites one local
place makes. They're delicious, they have pepperoni, eggplant
and/or spinach, for $1 each. Such a bargain!

       Those results are bizarre!
We're holding our umpty-eth Super Bowl party again this year. We
started out with a few couples around 2017 or 2018 and missed
only Covid and 2024, when mom was in hospice.
This year, we've had something like 62 RSVPs, and I'm serving my
semi-famous chili, which is always a crowd pleaser, and baked
potatoes (second time doing that). Guests are bringing desserts,
appetizers, side dishes. Some years we've had Chipotle tacos or
barbecue, but we always end up ordering too much.
I'll probly also make some GF cornbread. Krusteez has a
delicious honey GF cornbread mix; I better make sure I have a
box of the mix. Ooops! I'm out! Just put it on the shopping
       list.

Every year, without fail, I have to look up who is playing in
the Super Bowl. I have no interest heh
I do wish I could be invited to those parties though
