Hi all,
I'm having a small New Years party with savory and sweet
nibbles. One attendee mostly eats plant-based food. Does anyone
one have any great and easy plant-based appetizers or sweets?
So far I have hummus, veggie plate, fruit plate, bruschetta and
fruit tartlets. Does anyone have any suggestions for

That's a really nice selection already. I think they would be
delighted.
If you want to add to your options, the only other things that
come to mind could be a cheese spread (linked), maybe canned
dolmas, which are usually stuffed with rice and no meat, or a
vegan pate. Sorry I don't have a recipe, but usually they are
based on lentils and walnuts or mushrooms and walnuts.
Have fun!

Your suggestions made me smile because I had dolmas and a white
bean pate and a mushroom pate at my wedding reception (which I
made all the food for.) Love all 3 of them.
And to nsw11 - your menu sounds wonderful!

I don't have a specific recipe for you, but perhaps stuffed
mushrooms would make a nice appetizer.
When I make regular stuffed mushrooms, I sautee the stems,
onions, garlic, herbs and mix them with bread crumbs. I believe
you can find vegan bread crumbs, or use rice instead. Wild rice,
multi-grain rice such as Royal Blend's mix. You can make them in
advance then pop them in the oven to heat up.
You can get the Royal Blend rice in many stores, but here's what
it looks like.
