I'll just join the chorus here that Tarantino is sofa king
violent and disturbed that I won't watch anything he directed. I
mean, who has an epiphany after seeing his work? And God
forbid, to do what? :)
Waste of time film? Anything Star Wars. (I know, I know, but
the series is just warmed-over Joseph Campbell).
Worst "serious" film that was supposed to be good but wasn't?
AI.
Worst comedy? Ishtar (ETA: except for the one line that acl
quoted. That was funny.)
Worst RomCom? The Wedding Planner.
Worst kids film? Narnia (escorted 3 crying kids from the
theatre. The manager refunded us).

How can you dislike Tarantino??! His films are hilarious with
all that over the top gratuitous violence.

He happens to be my daughter's favorite director. I don't know
what it is about his films and the gratuitous violence, but she
apparently loves him and all his work. Especially the Kill Bill
ones.
I particularly liked Inglorious Basterds. I also liked Django
Unchained. I never did see Pulp Fiction.
I will recommend for her, since she likes Kill Bill, the samurai
revenge film QT stole it from: Lady Snowblood. '70s filmstyle,
dark and vicious, minus the casual racism and foot fetishism.
content warning: the Japanese song in Kill Bill is also stolen
wholesale from this film, so if that's a trigger, I'm letting
y'all know in advance.
I was trying to agree, not say funny. It is difficult to hit
the right spot when I am on my phone. I missed the error.
No worries!

We've never seen any of the Kill Bill movies, but love a lot of
T's other work: Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn, Inglorious
Basterds, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood especially. I will
confess that I couldn't watch all of Reservoir Dogs.

I think these days of very repetitive movie ideas and styles
(remakes, etc), I appreciate anyone with a unique point of view
as director. I don't love Tarantino movies because the violence
is too much for me in most of them. But I appreciate him doing
something - anything - unique. My favorites are Inglorious
Bastards and Pulp Fiction. I know just where I need to fast
forward :)
The costumes and music are generally very well done in his
films, as well. He does not cheap out on those things.

interest in the Kill Bill movies, fwiw.

I sat through Titanic and mumbled about how little sense the

I saw Titanic. I got through it by ignoring the plot and
looking at the pretty pictures of the ship and the people's
costumes.

Just an excuse for softcore porn. The film succeeded at what it
was trying to do, just what it was trying to do was pretty dumb.

The worst? Ever? I don't remember the name of it. My dad took
me to see it when I was in high school and we never spoke of it,
so I have no idea why. I wasn't even close to dating at the
time. It was a propaganda film trying to convince those horny
teenagers to remain celibate, because horrible things happen if
you have sex. A relatively responsible teen couple, using
condoms and everything, nevertheless produced a pregancy. The
girl was too horrified and broke to seek prenatal care, and was
found bleeding all over the bed by her parent? or landlady?
anyway, she died. So the film was horrible to watch, and bad
things can happen but aren't really that likely, and bad things
can happen even if the sex is postponed until after marriage.
And the film certainly convinced absolutely no one to wait
before having sex.

That is awful. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Virtual hugs
