I'm sorry. His movies are very violent. I don't really enjoy
most of them and I've never seen any of the Kill Bills. I don't
think this means he's a bad director, though. I can appreciate
that he has a certain vision. If you don't like violence, at
least you know his movies aren't for you.
They are very violent, and normally I'm more or less OK with it
because it's so cartoonish and OTT. But the abuse trigger was
very different. It was the song, and then the part where she'd
been in a coma and something about a rape and domestic violence
and that was it, I was out of there.
I can handle fantasy violence, no problem. It's realistic
violence that gets me in a really bad way.
Tarantino does tend to go a little nuts at the end of the movies
though. I left the room, no actually I left the house for the
end of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood because I could see it
coming. And the one, maybe Django unchained, set in the wild
west got kind of crazily bloody right at the end. But I didn't
find that disturbing, just a little silly.
I always find something I must do when DH watches these. Dead
Calm, Sin City, Kill Bill….
My goodness, the bathtub needs a scrub. Our triggers are our
triggers.

Ishtar (dustin hoffman & who the hell knows).
I was forced to watch it new years eve 1988 when I was studying
in Japan.
Some American friends & I were invited to watch movies with some
Japanese students. The Japanese (inexplicably) looooooved Ishtar
and wanted us to watch it again with them. We (silently) rolled
our eyes and agreed.
I doubt I could tell you a thing about it bc I probably promptly
fell asleep. Or blocked it out. Or both.

Warren Beatty is the 'who the hell knows.'
Don't hate me but we liked it. I don't know if I'd feel the
same if I watched it now, but we sometimes quote the line "I'm
still moving." (Maybe not a direct quote, but close enough.
They were in the desert and the vultures were getting ready.

The Triplets of Belleville. An animated movie. It won an Oscar
that year and we tried to watch it. It was awful.
Mr. hates Mars Attacks. I think it was funny. Dumb but funny
with an all-star cast. I have seen it more than once, would
watch it again. Ack Ack Ack.

He happens to be my daughter's favorite director. I don't know
what it is about his films and the gratuitous violence, but she
apparently loves him and all his work. Especially the Kill Bill
ones.
I particularly liked Inglorious Basterds. I also liked Django
Unchained. I never did see Pulp Fiction.

I will recommend for her, since she likes Kill Bill, the samurai
revenge film QT stole it from: Lady Snowblood. '70s filmstyle,
dark and vicious, minus the casual racism and foot fetishism.
content warning: the Japanese song in Kill Bill is also stolen
wholesale from this film, so if that's a trigger, I'm letting
y'all know in advance.

I just recommended that movie to her. She loves film, so she may
watch it. IF she can find it.

It runs on DaiKaiJu every now and again, so if she has Twitch,

I was trying to agree, not say funny. It is difficult to hit
