Betting on nostalgia purchases? I loved those Christmas tree
cakes when I was a child but I don't think I would like them if
I could eat them now.

There used to be a writer for the Minneapolis paper who did a
funny column around food. One of his running jokes involved
Little Debbie Nutty Bars as though they were the epitome of
haute cuisine. Among other things he often tried to recreate
recipes. He’s been gone a long time and I still miss him.

Funny, Nutty Bars were my favorite Little Debbie snacks during
childhood.

One of my retirement projects has been trying to make something
like a Little Debbie pecan spinwheel only better. I think I'm
one iteration from having it right, but we have to eat all the
last attempts before I try again.
