A bit early for this craving

Grandma made her sweet corn refrigerator relish a bit later in
the summer, but I am having a sudden mad craving for it this
morning. :)
I looked for a recipe that seemed right and found the recipe
below but it isn't quite the same as my grandma's (hers had
cucumbers and there was no basil). Fresh from her 1 acre garden
- cucumber, tomato (both green and ripe), purple or white onion,
sweet red and orange pepper, jalapeno, sweet corn, probably a
standard southern style pickling spice mix, fresh dill from the
garden with sugar and white vinegar. The sweet corn relish
recipes I see online seem to use a lot more corn than she used.
Hers had closer to equal amounts of each vegetable save the
jalapeno if those were particularly hot. She always had excess
cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers she "needed to use up". There
was always a bowl of old fashioned cucumber and onion salad with
white vinegar (salt shaker on the side) on the table as well.
I may try to replicate her sweet corn relish recipe today but I
will have to modify it a bit.

I do cucumber and onions in vinegar all the time in the summer
but without the sugar maybe I’ll give that a try. My Mom did it
as well although I don’t recall she added onions.
