It won’t open for me. I sat next to a golden retriever service
dog a few yrs back flying x-country and I was so happy to have
him as my seat mate! The woman with him was relieved I didn’t
       mind.

       Thanks talitha and muskrat! Adorable.
But that can’t be a service dog. Right?

       I didn't think so. It's clearly too distractable/distracted to
be a working dog. Cute as heck though!

Yeah, the one I mentioned I sat with on plane smelled really
bad, ( but I still didn't mind), and certified service/therapy
       dogs are always impeccable!
And THANKS for posting that link!!

       Very cute.
The speculation was this is an inter Europe flight. So maybe
rules are a little different for service dogs.
And if he’s not actively working during the flight he could be
       doing this.

Yup, when my friend's service dog (the Work Pup) doesn't have
her service vest on, she's just a dog. A very well trained dog,
but a dog all the same. Without the vest, she likes to knock me
over so she can climb onto my lap, with the service vest she
doesn't even acknowledge me (okay, sometimes she does, but she's
not supposed to and even when she does it's a tail wag and a
smile, not racing up to me for pets).
