Fascinating! Thanks for posting this. Anna’s and rufous
hummingbirds are now emptying my 2 feeders daily. That’s about 2
cups of sugar water every day! Rufous will soon be gone but
Anna’s stay year round.

We only have the Ruby Throated here. I wonder if the same has
been true.
I'll likely put my feeder out when I get to the lake today,
although it's a very short trip so maybe I won't have time to
get to it. As of next Tuesday though we'll live there
permanently so presumably I'll have lots of time to feed the
hummers.
