       Timers on games

For first time I tried timer on Merriam Webster anagram game.
  HTML https://www.merriam-webster.com/games/spot-the-anagram

I had so many timed tests in school, it immediately gave me PTSD
       and I got every.single.one…WRONG! I stopped at #5. 😂
I don’t usually read directions either.

I tried it and got some right but also quit about halfway
       through
For me all the fun goes away when the timer is on.
I improved my Sudoku playing a lot by playing on my laptop.
Except the game also has a timer. For a long time I tried to
play fast but eventually started to train myself not to care
about the time. It’s still a bit of an issue. Then I was telling
a friend about it and mentioned thst when I get stuck I can use
the hints. She maintained that cheating. I disagree First I’m
playing against myself so who cares? And secondly the hints
also teach so they have helped me improve.
People sure see silly games differently.
I was always a good test taker in school, timed or otherwise.
But I’m not in school and unless I’m in an organized activity
where I would follow their rules, I’ll not doing timed
       activities anymore.

Yeah, I don't like the timer on games. The only one I do play
timed is the trivia quiz. I also do an untimed trivia. I always
turn off the timer on those MW quizzes, cuz it's supposed to be
fun and the timer takes all the fun out of those.

The trivia game we play is a little different to me. Sure, it
matters to the end score. But if I hesitate for a second, the
game isn't going to rip away my opportunity to answer at all.
So, I'm OK with the timer on trivia but not on MW or that
       tightrope trivia game. Too stressful.

Actually I’m ok being timed on Tightrope, although I’m not sure
       why.

It's the name. You go into it knowing there'll be pressure so
       you don't mind so much.
I do generally use the timer on the MW quizzes, but only because
it amuses me. I'm not ashamed of turning it off when I don't
feel like rushing, just like I don't care if I need to use the
hints on Murdle. If I'm cheating anyone, it's myself and I
don't care about silly stuff like games and trivia.

Games are for fun, and for me time pressure makes them less fun.

I always leave the timer off from years of habit while I was
working, and there might be a ten-minute lag between questions
because of something at work. It's much better now, but I still
get interrupted, so it's better if I leave the timer off.

Hate it when work comes along to interrupt my game! :)
