**FYI - The entire platform had an outage this morning due to
bot interference. Everything seems to be functioning normally
again**

Thank you. That probably explains why I kept being told that I
couldn't connect and maybe I should drop my ad-blocker for this
site.

The one I got was telling me that it couldn't provide a secure
connection due to the lack of a valid SSL certificate.

Just got this when trying to quote a post:
Web server is returning an unknown error Error code 520
It didn't prevent me from getting here or from quoting the post
when I tried again. So just an FYI
ETA: oops, it did happen again when it was balking at letting me
click on a reaction and finally gave me that message again.

**I remember having some issues with cloudflare on AAM and
occasionally needing to check a box to verify that I am a human.
I suspect that we may run into some of that here as the system
deals with being able to identify and fend off the bots.
In other news: Because my brain woke up a couple of months ago
and recognized that if this platform failed or suddenly died, we
would have no way to contact everyone, I decided we needed a
backup forum. So I started working on a framework on Discord. It
is a very rough framework, which I don't really intend to flesh
out unless we actually need to use it. But I will post the link
here later tonight when I am home so that it is available for at
least posting messages about this site being down, etc.**

one, and as people show up on the Landing Pad, I will assign
roles (simple framework right now there is only Wading Pool,
Nutterati, and Moderator for roles) so that everyone can access
the Emergency Backup channel and play around with it if you want
