       I saw a snowy owl once in Canada. It was impressive. They have
       them in Northern Minnesota too but I've not seen one.
       My sister says they've had a lot of owls by their house this
       fall and winter. I may have to go hang out in her backyard.
       They are off sailing around South America so they'd never know.

       I saw one about 30 years ago.  It was on campus here - this is
       outside Snowy's usual range, so it must have gotten lost in
       migration.  Poor thing.  The campus crows were mobbing it, of
       course, and word of a Snowy on campus got on the birders'
       mailing list so there was a crowd about about 40 birders
       following it around too.  Beautiful owl, I hope it got to a safe
       place.
