I've roasted Brussel Sprouts a couple times in the last month. I
used a recipe I found on-line or maybe got from here. Mr. J even
said they tasted good this way which is more praise for them
than he's ever given.
All it is a sauce with maple syrup and a little dijon mustard.
And they are tossed with roasted walnuts and craisins. So simple
and yet so tasty. All done is 25 minutes or less.

We had Brussels sprouts last night, with chicken breast and a
multi rice blend. Tossed the sprouts and chicken with an olive
oil/herb/garlic/salt mixture and cooked them in 2 layers in the
air fryer. The cooking time and temp were the same for both so
it was perfect.

We love roasted brussel sprouts, so one year I got an entire
stock of them at Trader Joes.
I'm just going to say that there were a LOT more brussel sprouts
on that stock than I realized. Many, many dinners with large
servings of them.
Obviously I meant "stalk" not "stock" of brussels sprouts. I
don't think a stock made of brussels sprouts would be
particularly good.

I have successfully spatchcocked my turkey and it's been dry
brined with a salt and spice mixture. And my kitchen has been
sanitized.
I may regret this, because it turns out that Butterball turkeys
(which is what I'd bought) actually have a solution added to
them which includes salt. I hope it's not too salty.

Besides the standards - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and
cranberry sauce - Mrs. Bay is making corn pudding and a
carmelized mushroom-and-sweet-potato orzo dish, and I'm smoking
a ham and salmon for our pescatarian guests. Dessert will be
pumpkin and pecan pie and cranberry cake.

Cranberry cake? Sounds fascinating!

It's really good - we love having the leftovers for breakfast!
Mrs. Bay will make it for brunch sometimes in fact. It's kind of
like a coffee cake texture with cranberries studded throughout.

Key lime pie bars are in the oven. I winged this, so say a
prayer to the baking gods.

I posted our Thanksgiving dinner plan in the usual what's for
dinner thread.
Breakfast is going to be a frittata and waffles. Lunch is going
to be cheese, crackers, fruit, etc. Thanksgiving dinner will be
somewhere around actual dinner time because Little C still naps
about 1:30 to 4:00 or so, and since it's just us and my mom it
doesn't feel like there's any good reason to disrupt his usual
routine.
Still need to figure out what to bring to a Friendsgiving I'm
going to next weekend. Thinking something like:

/>and maybe a savory dish.

So....does anyone making turkey put the stuffing in the turkey
to bake? Or do you cook it outside of the turkey?
We ended up in quite the conversation about that last night and
wondered what you all think!

I prefer to stuff the bird, but you don't get that lovely
crunchy top that way, so some goes inside and some gets cooked
separately.
