       College Football

I figured I would start this new topic. Oklahoma and Texas have
moved to the SEC this year. Oklahoma is ranked below like 5
other teams in the SEC. I'm not used to that.
I may be posting crying emojis later in the season. We shall
       see.

Ok So the Big 10 is now up to 18 teams. But the Big 18 doesn't
have the same sound I guess.
Minnesota is ranked by ESPN at 15th of the 18 so it might be a
       long long season.
Lucky for me I'm not a huge football fan.

Texas is playing the University of Louisiana Monroe tonight.
The UL Monroe QB's name is General Booty.

His full name is General Maximus Axel Booty.
He is the son of Abram Booty (LSU wide receiver), and nephew of
Josh Booty (LSU & Cleveland quarterback, plus Florida Marlins
third baseman) and of John David Booty (USC quarterback). It's
       Louisiana; what do you want?
There is a high school in Lake Providence, Louisiana named
General Trass High School. General Trass never served a day in
the military - it was his name.

       Joke
The setup - originally about college student athletes and their
questionable education. It was also used for Nebraska football -
where the N on their helmets stands for Nowledge.🤪 As
an Illinois boy, I am an obvious fan of the Big 10. Despite
their inclusion in the now Big [s]10[/s] 18, I was delighted to
see the Illini start the season 3-0 by defeating the Huskers in
       OT last weekend.
Question - How many days of the week begin with the letter "T"?
'Husker - Two. Today and Tomorrow.
Question - How many seconds are there in a year?
'Husker - 12. January second, February second, March second….
Question - How many "D"s are there in "Rudolph the Red-nosed
       Reindeer"?
'Husker - About a million. Dee, Dee, De, De, De, Dee, Dee. De,
       De, De, De, De, Deeee…..

       The future of college sports:
  HTML https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/41430604/unlv-qb-matthew-sluka-no-longer-play-rebels-representations-were-not-upheld
Quarterback from UNLV quit the team; will take a redshirt year
and transfer. Reason: "representations" about what he'd make
       from NIL not being true.
He transferred to UNLV. He has them undefeated and is playing
well. But they've only played 3 games. Per NCAA rules (don't
make me laugh), if you play in four games or fewer, you don't
have to count it as a year. So he can still play somewhere else
next year. Pay me, or I quit, mid-season.

Interesting to see where he ends up. That can't help his
       reputation any.
On the other hand college sports at that level is now a business
and business's will employee people they know are arrogant and
self-centered and ignore it because they also deliver - at least
       in the short term.
And college sports is also by definition short term.
