One of the reasons flu season was so mild last year was that so
many people were wearing masks. I imagine the severity of the
flu this year will track pretty closely to mask usage again.

That the flu virus has been lying in wait a year and because we
are no longer isolating as much as we were it will get passed
around and will be a strong mutation that we haven't built
resistance to for the past year.
This is already happening with RSV and other respiratory
infections. Masks sure aren't helping with that.

Masked, yes. It's part of our dress code and student code of
conduct. But, well, teenagers are still teenagers, and it's hard
to get them to wear the mask properly all day long. Heck, it's
hard to get all the adults on campus to wear their masks
properly.
