We were on a 3 week trial adoption. The shelter called yesterday
to follow up.
Yes, we're keeping him. Even though he's not the chill kitty I
brought home. He must have been feeling poorly with his URI
brewing, and now that he's better, the 2 yo kitty in him is
showing his stripes.
He really wants to play with Mia, but she does not want to be
chased. As long as he's not chasing, though, she's adjusting and
not hissing at him. We're confident they'll be fine with some
more time. At least when she protests, he backs off and/or takes
a submissive position.
No new photos to post. Will have to work on it.
He's really enjoying the deck.
Also considering changing his name. He looks a lot like son's
Ollie, and the names sound so similar that I keep calling him
Ollie instead of Harley. Considering Charlie which is close
enough for him, different enough for my brain. I think. Not
sure. To be determined. I don't really want to change his name,
but I don't want to keep calling him Ollie!

When we brought Gatsby home, he was 7 months old. I was not
expecting the level of activity he needed. He did eventually
calm down some. I realize in hindsight we probably should have
pulled out the red dot or some other toy. But we all got through
it.
So you haven't tried "Har Har Harley!" If the name fits him I
would work on getting Harley right.

Oh, I am working on Harley. 🙂
Used a wand toy the other night. All 3 were enjoying it but I
focused on Harley.

Haven't posted about Harley in a month.
He's still being a PITA.
But sometimes Old Lady Sasha plays with him. Mia is fine when he
ignores her, but he really really wants to play with her and
she's having none of it.
He also eats more than I've ever seen any cat eat. I'm not sure
I can afford him! So far he's solid but not fat, and I hope I
don't have to put him on a diet.
But I will say one thing in his favor - he's an excellent hunter
of those dreaded spotted lantern flies. I don't know how he
keeps finding so many on the deck, but he does, and he brings
them in, beats them up a bit, and then when he's had his fun I
drop them into the garbage disposal. He got at least 6 between
yesterday and today. I've been rustling up the plants looking
for them and nada, yet somehow he finds them.

Handsome, yes. Sweet - not so much! Except when he gives kitty
kisses.
😁
