A Lynx ran across the highway in front of me years ago. My
sister was with me and it was nighttime. We both were stunned
but agreed based on the size and the ears it had to be a Lynx
       not the more common Bobcat.
It’s the only one I’ve ever seen in the wild.

       That is awesome!
I have seen bobcats in Texas, New Mexico, California, and
Oregon, but I have never seen a lynx. I looked for lynx during
my trip to Nelson, British Columbia, but no joy. I saw plenty
of wild turkeys, deer, and moose, but no lynx, at least not yet.

       So lovely.
I find it hard to credit people want to shoot something so
beautiful and maybe stuff it. The beauty is in the motion, not
       the coat or the pose.

I think he was trying to identify the camera. When he first
comes into view, he's sniffing. He moves his head around, still
sniffing and approaches the camera. Still sniffing. When he's
satisfied this new thing in his territory is no threat, he moves
       on.
I could be wrong. Even so, he's gorgeous.
