So I tried to take the cats to the vet today. I couldn't not get
Lil Sis in the box, and trying has freaked her out. She's having
the same time of tantrums she did after her vaccines last year.
Mostly at me, occasionally at her sister (who was a good kitty
and went in the box but probably smelled like the vet when she
got back), but mostly at nothing at all. Kitty PTSD. I'm getting
a mobile vet for the next exams. Everyone here is totally
stressed.

I used to leave the carrying case out, with a towel or tshirt in
it, and I'd put some treats in it for them so they would
associate it with something other than a trip to the vet. Maybe
something like that would help? OTOH, thank goodness for mobile
vets!

I do the same and Nori often sleeps in it. She still doesn't
like being put in it. So YMMV.

Thanks for the mojo and the suggestions. I put the carrier out
early with a towel, catnip sock and some treats. I was hoping
she'd go in herself. She did, but only halfway and backed out
the minute I moved. Her carrier could stay out easily enough but
Big Sis's is the size of an extra end table. Maybe I'll put them
on the floor of the screened in porch.
