I don't know Ani, maybe. She looks at blank space and screams
and growls, and she screams and growls at me and Big Sis. If it
doesn't resolve tonight, I'll try to take her back to the vet
tomorrow. Wrapped in a very thick blanket.

Thanks Mikki, I'll try that. If it doesn't work on her, maybe it
will work on her people and sister!

I haven't had a cat have this reaction to a vaccine. But when
the Facebiter has a big vet visit (i.e. one involving sedation,
or where he's poked and prodded more than usual) he takes off
running every time I go near him. If your vet says this sounds
like a normal reaction, I'd probably give it a day or two before
taking her to the emergency vet (although I completely
understand the impulse!). You might ask your vet about
gabapentin to relax her.

I have very little experience with cats. But since there was
something atypical (getting a vaccination) and the vet wasn't
worried, I agree I'd give it another day or two.

Is it possible to keep her in a dark and quiet place for now? I
wouldn't give catnip, it can be a stimulant. Might make it
worse.

Thanks everyone. The house is pretty open so it would be hard to
get her in a calm dark space. I bought 2 of the calming
diffusers. They may be helping. The episodes seem to be getting
further apart and shorter. And she's now in the room with the
rest of us and not hiding. She had a short episode but is now
sitting quietly.

Thank you Mikki! Two Feliway diffusers have been going for about
an hour and half. There's a major improvement. Lil Sis was
sitting in the room with the rest of us for at least an hour
with only one short verbalization and she stayed sitting during
it. She had been moving constantly and even jumping around.
