Labyrinth 35th Anniversary
By: Aardtacha Date: September 12, 2021, 10:09 pm

Went to the theater today to watch Labyrinth on the big screen
for the first time in 35 years. Really enjoyed it, although I'll
have to admit that those songs were not Bowie's best work,
either singing or writing. I'd forgotten what a baby Jennifer
Connolly was when that was shot.
As usual, I was rooting for Jared over Sarah. As usual, I was
disappointed, but it was lovely to see the muppets again.
It's still in theaters Monday and Wednesday if you're
interested; fathomevents.com for more information.

I have heard a story that I absolutely love about Bowie at a
premiere for the movie, meeting a child on the spectrum, talking
with him about a magic, invisible mask he has that keeps him
from being afraid, and giving that mask to the child. I would so
love to find that I lived on the world in which that story was
true.
The movie itself just doesn't click for me, and none of her
movies do; it's funny that as gorgeous as Ms Connelly has been,
her characters in every film I've seen have been utterly
repellent.
Oh, well. Bowie did a great job with what he was given.

It would be awesome if that was true! And if so, what a kind
thing to do for someone struggling.
