So, I walk off my front step, turn right, walk 30 feet or so
which puts me under a tree and I feel something hit me head.
It's probably a thingie off the flowering tree right? Wrong. A
bird pooped on my head.
And of course Rocket hasn't even thought about peeing or pooping
and he won't for at least 20 minutes. So here I am trying to
convince the dude he needs to hurry his business up.
And the tricks people tell me about to hurry up his business?
Complete failures. Walk him in circles in one spot so he won't
have anything new to smell. I might get a single circle in
before he looks at me like I've lost my mind and actively
attempts to be anywhere else but that circle. Condition him by
using the word potty so he goes on command. I swear the second
I open my mouth to say Go Potty as he is literally circling to
find the perfect spot resets him and he starts off again. I'm
better off keeping my mouth shut.
So... how often do you have to wash your hair before you feel
confident that you've got it out?
This fostering business has opened me up to all kinds of new
experiences.

A bird once pooped on me when I was on my way into the office a
few years ago, and to answer your question Billie, I wasn't
confident I got it all out until just now, when I realized that
that was a few years ago and all the hair on my head has been
replaced since then.
But in all seriousness, I think one wash was enough to get it
out. Crossing my fingers that it's similarly easy for you!

I happened to look through my fostering emails to make sure I
havent missed anything from my adoption coordinator when I see
her email about another standard poodle (same color as Rocket)
being used for breeding. She broke her leg so she got
surrendered because the owners couldnt afford her care. WTF?
You used her for profit but then couldnt fork over the funds for
her medical care?
Her leg is fixed and they want to put her directly into a home
for recovery. I couldn't take her even if I wanted to because I
have stairs....lots and lots of stairs. But I'm mad on her
behalf.

Potty cues: wait until he is in the act.
Give the cue as he is doing it: "Better go now."
Praise wildly, lavishly, excitedly, exuberantly. Give treats.
Repeat one million times.
He'll learn it.
As in life, the key to dog training is infinite patience plus
perfect timing.

Been pooped on lots of times. One wash'll do it, no problem.
If you're feeling really squicked about it, give yourself a
vinegar rinse after. Be careful -- vinegar stings if you get it
into your eyes. Even dilute vinegar. Apple cider or white work
equally well.

Wish we could help.
We have stairs too, but we'd be able to carry her up and down.
And really, most likely she'd learn how to navigate the stairs
with the cast on.

According to my friend, C, the most surprising thing about my

I (name redacted) deserved better treatment from her owner!
She's only a year old and her 40 pounds looks healthy &
appropriate on her (at least from the angles shown) but not for
your fellow.
