Orangutan Seen Treating A Wound With A Medicinal Plant In World-
First Observation

I read about similar behavior in a radio tagged grizzly bear
many years ago. They found her body shortly after she died.
She was an elderly bear, and she had packed the infected hole
left behind from a lost, abscessed tooth with shredded willow
bark (basically aspirin) to ease her pain. Very cool to see
something similar in another species! I imagine we learned most
everything we know about this type of thing from observing
animals.

I just found this and am so happy to hear that other species are
able to treat wounds and stop pain through use of medicine!
Incredible
