My alarm goes off at 5:45. I immediately turn on the TV to
watch the traffic and weather. If I am really sleepy, it acts
like a snooze. It will wake me up eventually.
I just don't like not being able to sleep in on the weekends
because I'm locked in to my schedule.

I have an iPhone. The snooze is 9mins. I don’t think I can
alter that. Whoever came up with the 9min. time needs to be held
accountable!

[/quote]I believe it is because you can go back into REM sleep
at 10 minutes. But I could be making that up.

I had an issue with my phone where none of my alarm apps would
work. I found the issue today but it made me think of how
people use them.
Are you an alarm person at all? Do you hit the snooze?
I am a snoozer. I set it for 8 minutes. Sometimes I need two
but occasionally I will need a third. I find 8 minutes is good
because I can't fall back to sleep.
Currently my alarm is the song True by Spandau Ballet. It's a
nice way to enter the world of the living.

After years and years of tapping the snooze button I have been
trained (by being a parent of a child that often oversleeps) to
get up alarm or not at the same time. I don't like this. Looking
forward to the days of no alarm

Last night I woke up at 2:30, glanced at the clock and realized
I hadn't set the alarm. I was also fretting that I hadn't
prepped my lunch stuff for the week. Set the alarm and figured
I'd just grab a prepared salad at HEB on my way to work and went
back to sleep. Woke up at 5:30, realized it was Sunday, dammit,
and I don't have to fret about all that stuff until this
evening, turned off the alarm so it wouldn't wake my husband and
started my day as normal.
I wonder if I'll ever be able to train myself to sleep later
after I retire...
