spiders. ha. Okay, interesting, but the "weird things on Mars
that aren't really there" story has already been told with the
canals.
This story has next to the spiders story:
HTML https://www.livescience.com/space/mars/nasa-mars-samples-which-could-contain-evidence-of-life-will-not-return-to-earth-as-initially-planned
The Perseverence rover has collected a bunch of rock and soil
samples. The plan was always that NASA would send another
mission to Mars to collect all those samples and carry them back
to Earth, so they could be studied in excellent and constantly
improving labs here. That was originally planned for anound
2025 to 2030. But the sample return mission is going over
budget and looks like it might not even be possible until 2040.
They're talking about changing the mission to make it cheaper in
various ways, and possibly not retrieving all of the samples.
Sigh.
