My patients think Ozempic is a wonder drug. But it can't fix fat
phobia

I really like this doctor, and I wish I could find one just like
her here. Interesting article. I only take minor issue with
one part:
"Even Oprah, whose body size has been the subject of national
interest for decades, seems to buy the hype.
She publicly announced she was using a GLP-1 medication in 2023.
And she told viewers in her prime-time special that she's
"releasing the stigma and the shame and the judgment" that come
with living in a bigger body – something she can presumably do
now because she's thin.
She doesn't stop to ask if maybe fat phobia is the problem, not
fat people."
Oprah. She promoted Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Marianne Williamson,
etc., all of whom I see as in the snake oil salesman category.
I really hate on Dr. Phil, fuck that guy. I have probably
forgotten how many questionable books she promoted over the
years. I don't trust her judgement on this sort of thing. I am
not surprised she bought into this hype too. She seems to be
sort of uniquely vulnerable to this type of hype, and I don't
hate on her for that.
I agree with everything else this doctor wrote.
